Trump Says US Strikes Iranian Military Sites After Alleged Ceasefire Violation

US President Donald Trump announced that American forces carried out airstrikes on Iranian military targets after accusing Tehran of violating a recently agreed ceasefire, warning that further breaches could trigger a stronger military response.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said US aircraft struck Iranian missile and drone storage facilities, along with coastal radar installations, describing the operation as a response to what he called Iran’s breach of the ceasefire agreement.

The president said the strikes were intended to hold Iran accountable for its actions and cautioned that the United States would escalate its response if the situation continued to deteriorate.

“There may come a time when we can no longer be reasonable and will be forced to militarily complete the job,” Trump wrote. He added a stark warning to Tehran, saying that if such a scenario unfolded, “the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist.”

Trump’s comments came a day after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it had conducted additional military operations against targets inside Iran.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted missile and drone storage sites as well as coastal radar positions. The military said the operation followed a recent attack on a commercial vessel, which Washington blamed on Iran. US officials described the action as a defensive response aimed at protecting international shipping and maintaining security in the region.

The latest military exchange has raised fresh concerns about the stability of the ceasefire, which had been viewed as a step toward reducing tensions after months of conflict between the two countries.

The United States has repeatedly accused Iran of threatening maritime security in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route for global energy supplies. Washington maintains that freedom of navigation in the region remains a strategic priority.

Iran has rejected previous US accusations and has defended its military actions, arguing that it is responding to what it views as foreign aggression and violations of its sovereignty.

Trump did not indicate whether additional military operations were already being planned but stressed that the United States would continue to respond if Iran carried out further actions that Washington considers violations of the ceasefire.

The renewed exchange of strikes has added uncertainty to diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving the truce, with international observers warning that further escalation could threaten regional stability and disrupt vital global trade routes.

Military officials have not released details on the extent of the damage caused by the latest US strikes, and Iranian authorities have yet to provide a comprehensive assessment of the targeted sites. The situation remains fluid as both sides continue to exchange accusations over responsibility for the latest confrontation.
