Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max Stands Out With 200MP Telephoto Camera and 6,000mAh Battery

Huawei’s Pura 90 Pro Max continues to attract attention in the premium smartphone market, with its camera system, processing capabilities and battery performance among the features highlighted by the company nearly four months after its initial release.

Despite the arrival of newer flagship devices from competing brands, Huawei is positioning the Pura 90 Pro Max as a strong option for users prioritising photography, long-range video recording and fast charging.

The device’s main camera feature is a 200-megapixel RYYB telephoto sensor measuring 1/1.28 inches. Huawei says the large sensor, combined with CIPA 7.0 image stabilisation, is designed to produce sharper photographs and more stable footage when capturing distant subjects.

The telephoto camera also uses chip-level 200MP RAW real-time processing to support 20x telephoto video recording. This allows users to record faraway subjects while retaining detail and reducing camera shake, according to the company.

The primary camera is built around a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor and Huawei’s 16EV Ultra Lighting HDR technology. The system is designed to improve light sensitivity and preserve detail in scenes with strong contrasts between bright and dark areas.

Huawei has also equipped the phone with its True-to-Colour Camera 2.0 technology, which aims to improve colour accuracy and produce more natural-looking images. Sensor-level processing helps retain highlights and shadow detail in backlit environments while limiting colour distortion.

Another feature is the phone’s variable aperture system. Huawei introduced adjustable aperture technology in its flagship devices in 2022, and the Pura 90 Pro Max offers 10 adjustment steps. The system gives users greater control over light entering the camera and the appearance of photographs in different shooting conditions.

Connectivity is another area highlighted by Huawei. According to testing conducted by UAE telecommunications operator e&, the Pura 90 Series achieved download speeds of up to 4.58 gigabits per second.

The company says the series is also designed to maintain reliable signal reception in challenging locations, including underground areas, lifts, tunnels and enclosed spaces, as well as remote environments such as deserts.

The Pura 90 Pro Max is powered by a 6,000mAh battery, which is designed to support extended use throughout the day. It also supports 100W Huawei SuperCharge technology, allowing users to recharge the device more quickly.

Huawei is presenting the combination of high-resolution imaging, long-range video, fast network connectivity and battery capacity as a way to distinguish the Pura 90 Pro Max from other premium smartphones.

While individual performance will depend on network conditions and usage, the device’s camera hardware and charging specifications remain central to its appeal in the competitive flagship market.
