Apple is preparing for what could become one of its biggest hardware years, with reports pointing to the launch of its first foldable iPhone alongside new Pro models, Apple Watches, iPads, Macs and smart-home devices.
Although Apple has not officially announced its launch schedule, reports suggest the company could change its traditional iPhone release strategy this year. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive in September, while the standard iPhone 18 models could be delayed until early 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island and an upgraded OLED display. They could also be powered by Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro processor, which is reportedly expected to use a 2-nanometre manufacturing process.
Other rumored upgrades include a variable-aperture main camera designed to provide greater control over photography, similar to technology used in dedicated cameras. A dark cherry finish is also reportedly being considered as a new color option.
The most significant announcement could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, often referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. Reports suggest the device could feature a 5.3-inch outer display that expands to a 7.6-inch screen when opened.
The foldable model is expected to be extremely thin, potentially measuring around 4.5mm when unfolded. Apple is also reportedly working on a durable hinge and display technology designed to make the crease less noticeable.
Beyond the iPhone, Apple is expected to refresh its smartwatch lineup. The Apple Watch Series 12 could receive a faster processor aimed at improving Siri and artificial intelligence functions, while a fourth-generation Apple Watch Ultra may feature a redesigned body and additional sensors.
The iPad mini could also receive a significant upgrade, with the iPad mini 8 reportedly moving to an OLED display. A more water-resistant design and vibration-based speaker technology have also been rumored.
Apple’s Mac lineup could gain new M6-powered MacBook Pro models. The entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro is reportedly among the first Macs expected to use Apple’s 2-nanometre chip technology.
The company is also believed to be developing several smart-home products. These could include a new HomePod mini, an updated Apple TV 4K and a dedicated smart-home hub designed to control connected devices.
A new Apple smart-home camera is reportedly under development as well. The camera could work with HomeKit and connect with the planned home hub.
If the reports prove accurate, Apple’s 2026 product cycle could mark a major expansion beyond its established devices, with foldable technology and smart-home products becoming important parts of the company’s next phase.
