Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has announced the recall of 4,464 Genesis vehicles after a manufacturing defect was identified that could cause a fuel leak and increase the risk of fire.
The recall affects eight Genesis models from the 2021 to 2026 model years. The vehicles include several models from the luxury automaker’s range, such as the GV70, GV80, G80 and G90.
According to the ministry, the issue is linked to the installation of the fuel cross-pipe nut. If the nut is not installed correctly, it could loosen or fail to hold the fuel line securely in place. This may allow fuel to leak from the vehicle.
A fuel leak can create a serious safety concern because leaked fuel could come into contact with hot components or other ignition sources, increasing the possibility of a fire.
Owners of Genesis vehicles covered by the campaign have been advised to check whether their cars are included in the recall. The Ministry of Commerce said motorists can verify their vehicle’s status by entering the vehicle identification number, or VIN, on the Recalls.sa platform.
The latest campaign is part of a series of vehicle recalls announced by Saudi authorities in recent weeks involving different manufacturers and safety-related defects.
On August 10, the Ministry of Commerce announced the recall of 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles because of a defect involving the driver-side airbag inflator.
The problem could cause the inflator to rupture when the airbag deploys during a crash, potentially sending sharp metal fragments into the passenger compartment. Authorities warned that the defect could result in serious injuries and, in severe cases, death.
Another major recall was announced on August 24, involving 84,639 Toyota Camry vehicles from the 2025 and 2026 model years.
The Toyota recall concerns a defect in the instrument panel system that could prevent important information from being displayed correctly. The issue could also affect warning functions designed to alert drivers to certain vehicle conditions.
The repeated recalls highlight the importance of vehicle owners checking official safety campaigns and responding promptly when their cars are affected.
For Genesis owners, checking the VIN through the official recall system can confirm whether a vehicle is included in the latest campaign and whether corrective work is required.
The Ministry of Commerce has urged affected motorists to follow the instructions provided through the recall process and arrange any necessary repairs through the appropriate channels.
