The View Hospital, in affiliation with Cedars-Sinai, and Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance have renewed their healthcare insurance partnership, continuing an agreement established in 2023 to improve access to medical services for insured members in Qatar.
The renewed arrangement allows Al Koot members to access direct billing for all medical services and clinics at The View Hospital, reducing the need to pay medical expenses upfront and seek reimbursement later.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Rafee Al-Emadi, chief executive officer of Al Koot Insurance and Reinsurance, and Joe Hazel, group chief executive officer of Apex Health.
Al Koot was among the first insurance companies to partner with The View Hospital when the agreement was initially established in 2023. The renewal reflects both organisations’ commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare and providing services focused on patients’ needs.
Al-Emadi said the partnership could support the development of Qatar’s healthcare sector by encouraging cooperation between healthcare providers and insurers.
“Al Koot’s partnership with The View Hospital is a unique alliance that will contribute to the accelerated transformation of Qatar’s healthcare sector,” he said.
He added that such collaborations could help healthcare organisations respond to emerging challenges, share strategic expertise and develop new solutions to improve patient services.
The direct billing arrangement also gives Al Koot’s insured members access to the hospital’s medical services without the additional administrative burden associated with paying upfront and claiming reimbursement.
Al-Emadi described The View Hospital as a distinguished healthcare provider and a leading institution in the Qatari market. He said the range of services available through the partnership would help raise healthcare standards and improve access to advanced medical treatment.
He also said Al Koot was the first and only flagship medical insurer in Qatar to offer this feature through its arrangement with the hospital.
Hazel said the renewal continued a relationship that began when Al Koot joined the hospital’s insurance network in its early stages.
“Al Koot was among the first to join us at The View Hospital, and we are proud to continue that partnership,” he said.
He added that both organisations shared a commitment to providing high-quality clinical care with transparency and compassion.
Through its affiliation with Cedars-Sinai, The View Hospital aims to bring advanced medical technology and international healthcare standards to Qatar. Hazel said the renewed agreement would make these services more accessible to Al Koot members.
The partnership comes as healthcare providers and insurers continue to work together to improve patient access, streamline payment arrangements and strengthen the delivery of medical services in Qatar. By maintaining direct billing across the hospital’s clinics and services, the agreement seeks to provide insured patients with a more convenient route to treatment.
