Starlink Expands High-Speed Satellite Internet Services in UAE

The high-speed internet service Starlink is available in the UAE, with roaming service price starts from Dh190 per month. The company, owned by Elon Musk, has outlined a range of packages aimed at both mobile users and households, reflecting growing demand for reliable connectivity across the region.

According to details published by Starlink, roaming services include a 100GB monthly data plan priced at Dh190, while an unlimited roaming package is available for Dh370 per month. These plans are designed for users who require internet access on the move, including those in remote or underserved areas.

For residential users, the company is offering high-speed home internet starting at Dh230 per month, alongside a one-time hardware cost of Dh1,099. Customers can choose between two main packages. The Residential Lite plan provides unlimited usage at a lower speed for Dh230 per month, while the full Residential package offers higher speeds with unlimited data at Dh300 per month.

Starlink, developed by SpaceX, delivers internet connectivity through a network of low Earth orbit satellites. Unlike traditional broadband services that rely on underground cables or mobile towers, the system uses thousands of small satellites orbiting closer to Earth, which helps reduce latency and improve performance. This allows users to access services such as video calls, streaming, and online gaming with faster response times compared to older satellite systems.

As of March 2026, Starlink is available in more than 150 countries and territories worldwide, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. In the Middle East, the service has expanded beyond the UAE to include countries such as Oman, Yemen, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

The company says its service is designed to provide consistent and reliable connectivity, particularly in locations where conventional broadband infrastructure is limited or difficult to deploy. Starlink claims its residential service offers 99.9 per cent uptime and is resilient in varying weather conditions, a key factor for users in regions with challenging environments.

The expansion of satellite-based internet services in the UAE reflects a broader shift towards alternative connectivity solutions as demand for high-speed internet continues to rise. With increasing reliance on digital platforms for work, education, and entertainment, providers are focusing on improving coverage and performance to meet user expectations.

Starlink’s growing presence in the region highlights the role of satellite technology in bridging connectivity gaps and supporting digital development across diverse markets.
