Indian and South Korean companies participating in Expand North Star 2024 have highlighted Dubai’s growing importance as a global hub for entrepreneurs and startups. Representatives from these countries praised Dubai’s role in turning innovative ideas into successful projects and helping digital startups expand internationally.
Expand North Star, a key event for the global startup community, has garnered significant attention for its ability to connect entrepreneurs with investors, clients, and partners. The event offers a platform for participants to exchange expertise and learn from successful models in developing advanced digital technologies. Indian and Korean representatives emphasized the event’s value in providing insights into the journey of growing startups into billion-dollar “unicorns.”
This year’s exhibition saw a strong presence from South Korea, with over 100 startups featured in the Korean pavilion. These companies are showcasing cutting-edge solutions across various fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), deep technology, and digital solutions for industries like dentistry and education. AI voice cloning, a popular emerging technology, is among the key innovations presented by Korean startups.
Seungho Lee, Head of Marketing at Braindeck, an AI voice cloning service, lauded Dubai’s openness to investment and its business-friendly environment. Lee noted that Dubai’s specialized free zones and incubators make it an attractive destination for Korean startups. “The success of Korean giants like Samsung and LG in Dubai further underscores the city’s appeal as a launchpad for new businesses,” Lee added.
Indian startups also made a significant impact at the event, presenting a range of innovations from robotics and employee engagement platforms to software and IT solutions. India’s startup ecosystem is renowned for its dynamism, ability to attract substantial investment, and focus on future-facing technologies such as AI. Indian entrepreneurs at Expand North Star emphasized Dubai’s conducive business environment and its strong potential for scaling up operations.
Adviteey Mehaindroo, CEO of Zinkus, a robotics company attending the event for the third time, highlighted Dubai’s booming tourism industry as a key driver for adopting robotics and AI. “Dubai’s receptive market has enabled us to secure significant orders,” Mehaindroo said, reflecting on the city’s role in their company’s growth.
Chiranjeevi Aneel Kumar Bonu, Founder and CEO of TalentSpotify, an AI-powered employee engagement platform, praised Dubai’s diverse population and innovative culture. Bonu noted that the city’s ease of doing business and openness to technology made it an ideal location for launching new ventures.
The event has once again solidified Dubai’s reputation as a strategic hub for global startups, offering them a platform to grow, innovate, and access international markets.
