Flights across the United Arab Emirates are continuing to operate largely as scheduled despite ongoing disruption to some regional routes caused by the US-Iran conflict. UAE-based airlines are maintaining services to several Gulf destinations, while some carriers are expanding their international networks to meet continued passenger demand.
Etihad Airways has added new destinations, including Calgary, while Emirates is preparing to launch daily flights to Helsinki from October.
Etihad continues to operate three to four daily services between Abu Dhabi and Bahrain International Airport. Flights including EY641, EY643, EY647 and EY645 are scheduled on the route.
The airline has also restored a daily service between Abu Dhabi and Kuwait. Flight EY653 is operating after Etihad previously suspended services to the country because of regional disruptions.
Emirates is maintaining some flights between Dubai and Bahrain. Flight EK839 is scheduled to operate, while EK837 has been cancelled for the stated travel period. Its daily service EK857 between Dubai and Kuwait is scheduled to operate normally.
Flydubai is also continuing services between Dubai and Bahrain. Flights FZ029, FZ023 and FZ021 are scheduled to operate today and tomorrow. The airline’s FZ063 service between Dubai and Kuwait is also expected to run according to schedule.
Air Arabia has a mixed schedule across its Gulf network. Its G9107 service from Sharjah to Bahrain is cancelled for today and tomorrow, while G9101, G9103 and G9105 remain scheduled.
Flights G9068 and G9124 from Sharjah to Kuwait have also been cancelled, while G9121 is scheduled to operate. On the Sharjah-Doha route, flights G9081 and G9138 are cancelled tomorrow, with other services continuing as planned.
The regional security situation has led several international airlines to extend flight suspensions, with some services halted until later this year or even into 2027. However, a number of international carriers continue to serve UAE airports and destinations across the Gulf.
Air France resumed flights to Dubai and Riyadh on August 25, while its services to Beirut remain suspended until September 1.
Other international passenger airlines currently operating in the UAE include IndiGo, Air India Express, Saudia, Jazeera Airways, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, Syrian Air, Varesh Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, EgyptAir, Aeroflot, SpiceJet, Royal Jordanian and Middle East Airlines.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding regional air travel, the continued operation of major UAE carriers is helping preserve important connections between the country and neighbouring Gulf states. The addition of new international routes also indicates that airlines continue to see significant demand from passengers travelling through the UAE.
