Google Expands AI Mode Search Tool to Over 180 Countries, Including Arab Nations

Google announced on Friday the global rollout of its new search feature, known as AI Mode, extending availability to users in more than 180 countries, including several in the Arab world. The tool, designed to change how people search online, introduces an interactive chat-like interface that allows users to engage in more conversational searches.

While the launch is global, Google noted that the service is currently available only in English and does not yet support Arabic or other regional languages. The company said further language expansion is expected in the future.

AI Mode, which was initially introduced in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India, comes with several upgraded features. Chief among them are what Google calls “Agentic capabilities,” available to subscribers of its premium Google AI Ultra service. These functions allow users to book restaurant reservations directly through the search interface by entering details such as date, time, number of guests, preferred location, and cuisine. The system then scans multiple booking platforms and provides a list of available options with direct links for finalizing reservations.

In addition to simplifying restaurant bookings, Google said the new version of AI Mode will deliver more personalized results by learning from users’ past searches and preferences. The aim, according to the company, is to make recommendations more accurate and tailored to individual interests.

Another feature unveiled as part of the global expansion is a sharing tool that allows users to copy and paste AI Mode results into messages. Friends or family members who receive the link can then continue the search from the same point, making it easier to collaborate on planning activities or researching information together.

Google emphasized that the expansion reflects its commitment to redefining the search experience and aligning its services with the way people increasingly use digital tools in their daily lives. By combining traditional search functions with interactive capabilities, the company hopes to strengthen its competitive edge as the demand for more intuitive and personalized online tools grows worldwide.

Industry analysts say the global rollout signals Google’s determination to maintain dominance in the search market amid growing competition. While the absence of Arabic-language support may limit the immediate impact in Arab nations, the inclusion of these markets in the initial expansion highlights their importance to the company’s broader strategy.

As Google continues to refine AI Mode, further updates are expected in the coming months, potentially including broader language availability and expanded use cases beyond dining and general search assistance.
