Four UAE Soldiers Killed in Ammunition Transport Accident, Nine Injured

Four members of the UAE Armed Forces tragically lost their lives in an accident while transporting ammunition inside a military camp, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, September 24, leaving nine others injured.

The soldiers who died in the line of duty were identified as Nahyan Al Marzouqi, Ahmed Al Shehhi, Nasser Al Balooshi, and Abdulaziz Al Taniji. The Ministry of Defence’s Undersecretary, Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, extended his condolences to the bereaved families. “We offer our sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, who gave their pure souls while carrying out their duties,” Al Dhaheri said.

A delegation of senior officials, led by Al Dhaheri, visited the families of the fallen soldiers on Thursday to personally offer their condolences. During the visit, the delegation expressed their deep sorrow, praying for God to “bestow His vast mercy upon them, to place them among the righteous, martyrs, and the pious, to grant them a place in His spacious gardens, and to inspire their families with patience and solace.”

Al Dhaheri also provided an update on the condition of the soldiers who were injured in the accident, confirming that they are receiving top-tier healthcare services in the country. He wished them a full and speedy recovery.

The funerals for some of the soldiers were held in Ajman on Wednesday, with mourners paying tribute to the men who sacrificed their lives in service to their country.

Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, visited the injured soldiers on Wednesday and offered his “deepest condolences to the leadership and people of the UAE on the martyrdom of four brave UAE Armed Forces men who lost their lives in an accident while in the line of duty.”

Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, also expressed his sorrow over the soldiers’ deaths, stating, “We pray to God Almighty to have mercy on their souls and make heaven their eternal abode with their brothers who achieved the honour of martyrdom.”

The incident has drawn widespread expressions of grief and solidarity from leaders and citizens across the UAE, as the country mourns the loss of its servicemen.
