Dubai, UAE—Emirates has announced plans to debut its newly retrofitted Boeing 777s, featuring the airline’s latest Business Class and Premium Economy cabins, on routes to Kuwait and Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The move comes as part of the airline’s strategy to enhance the customer experience on shorter flights and expand the availability of its premium services across the Gulf region.
Starting October 27, the refurbished Boeing 777 will serve passengers traveling between Dubai and Kuwait on flights EK855 and EK856. From November 22, Dammam will join the list of destinations served by the upgraded aircraft, with daily flights EK823, EK824, EK821, and EK822. This makes Dammam the second destination in Saudi Arabia to feature the retrofitted Emirates Boeing 777, following Riyadh.
The retrofitting of Emirates’ Boeing 777 fleet, which began in July 2023, has already resulted in six aircraft being rolled out with refreshed interiors, now servicing routes to Geneva, Zurich, Brussels, Tokyo Haneda, and Riyadh. With the addition of Kuwait and Dammam, Emirates continues to extend the reach of its next-generation cabins within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft feature a four-class configuration, including the airline’s Premium Economy, Business Class, and Economy Class cabins, all designed to provide a more comfortable and luxurious in-flight experience. Premium Economy offers 24 seats arranged in a 2-4-2 layout, each with a 19.5-inch width, a generous 38-inch pitch, and 8-inch reclining capabilities. Passengers can also enjoy six-way adjustable headrests, offering additional comfort for shorter flights.
Business Class travelers will benefit from seats that convert into spacious 78.6-inch flatbeds, as well as one of the largest in-flight entertainment screens available—a 23-inch high-definition display. Emirates’ revamped Business Class also features a mini-bar stocked with light snacks and refreshments for added convenience.
In Economy Class, 256 ergonomically designed seats have been introduced, offering passengers comfort with a soft grey and blue color palette and enhanced seating arrangements. These updates aim to improve the overall experience for all passengers, regardless of cabin class.
The introduction of the upgraded Boeing 777s to Kuwait and Dammam is part of Emirates’ broader plan to roll out its latest products across more destinations worldwide. The airline has already announced plans to introduce the refurbished aircraft on several routes to the U.S., including Chicago, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Seattle, as well as on flights to Athens, Newark, Miami, and Bogotá.
Passengers traveling from Kuwait and Dammam to the U.S. via Dubai will now have the opportunity to experience a seamless journey across Emirates’ Premium Economy and Business Class cabins, setting a new standard for luxury travel in the region.
