The world’s tallest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, reopened to the public on Christmas Day following over two years of restoration and enhancement work. The attraction, located on Bluewaters Island, drew hundreds of visitors on the first day of its soft launch, with more crowds expected in the days to come.
“It was very busy, with hundreds, maybe even thousands, of visitors,” a security guard at the site reported. “Many people noticed it was open while visiting the mall and booked tickets immediately. Additionally, staff members brought their families. We are expecting even more visitors today.”
Closed since March 2022 for “enhancement works,” the 250-meter-tall observation wheel has resumed operations with ticket prices ranging from AED 145 to AED 1,260, offering options for various experiences, including exclusive private pods.
Stunning Views Exceed Expectations
Among the first-day visitors was Emirati resident Ahmed Hani, who described his ride as a breathtaking experience. “It was my first time on Ain Dubai, and the views exceeded all my expectations,” he said. “My family and I caught the sunset, and it was truly spectacular.”
Hani noted that most visitors he encountered were first-timers. “Some had ridden it before, but for many, this was their first time,” he said. “The option to book a private pod for celebrations, decorated to your liking, is likely to be a big hit among UAE residents.”
A Unique Experience for Tourists
Indonesian influencer Vina Muliana, visiting her sister in Dubai, shared her excitement about experiencing the attraction. “I’ve seen Ferris wheels in Singapore and London, but I wanted to try Ain Dubai because it’s the tallest,” she said.
Unaware of its recent reopening, Muliana considered herself fortunate to visit on the first day. “The views of the Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab from the top were incredible,” she said. Muliana, who is spending two weeks in Dubai, also recounted her recent skydiving experience, joking, “Now I know what it feels like to jump out of a plane. Both were amazing experiences with spectacular views.”
Visitors Seize the Opportunity
Polish tourists Janusz and Iwona, staying in Dubai Marina, were drawn to the wheel after spotting it in motion from their hotel window. “When we arrived earlier, it wasn’t operational, but yesterday evening, we saw it moving and decided to try it,” Janusz said.
The couple, among the first to board the wheel at its 12 p.m. opening, were thrilled by the experience. “It’s our last day in Dubai, and we’re happy we got to ride Ain Dubai before leaving,” Janusz added.
As Ain Dubai resumes its status as a must-visit attraction, visitors and residents alike are flocking to enjoy the spectacular views and unique experiences it offers.
