Al Bandar Rotana and Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana hotels were honored with a prestigious sustainability award from Johnson Controls at the WETEX 2024 event, held in Dubai. The award recognizes the hotels’ remarkable achievements in environmental conservation, including reducing water consumption by 30% and cutting electricity usage by 40% through the use of advanced systems and sustainable practices.
The recognition highlights the partnership between Al Bandar Rotana and Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart building technologies. Johnson Controls has played a key role in promoting sustainability with comprehensive cooling and energy efficiency technologies that help businesses, both in the UAE and globally, optimize resources and reduce their carbon footprint.
Ayman Ashor, General Manager of Al Bandar Rotana and Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana, led the sustainability efforts as part of Rotana’s Earth initiatives. Ashor emphasized the importance of innovation and environmental responsibility in achieving these milestones. Under his leadership, the hotels collaborated with Johnson Controls to implement the “Cooling as a Service” (CaaS) project, which helped improve energy management and water conservation across the properties.

Al Bandar Rotana is also working toward achieving the “Gold” category in the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp, awarded by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism. The hotel previously earned the “Silver” category and continues to push for new sustainability goals by meeting Dubai’s stringent environmental standards, aligning with the UAE’s Year of Sustainability.
