UAE Airlines to Add More Flights to Manila Following New Aviation Agreement

UAE airlines are set to operate additional flights to Manila after civil aviation authorities from the UAE and the Philippines signed a new agreement aimed at enhancing air connectivity between the two nations. The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties in civil aviation and support growing passenger demand.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE conducted Air Services Agreement (ASA) consultations with the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) of the Philippines to discuss air transport requirements and opportunities for expanding flight operations. The outcome of these discussions allows UAE national carriers, including Emirates and Etihad, to increase their flight services to Manila.

Officials from both countries noted that the additional flights will support tourism, trade, and people-to-people connections, reflecting the strong relationship between the UAE and the Philippines. The two nations maintain a longstanding civil aviation partnership, underpinned by robust air traffic and the significant Filipino community residing and working in the UAE.

“The expansion of flight operations strengthens our cooperation in aviation and provides more travel options for passengers between the UAE and the Philippines,” a GCAA spokesperson said. The agreement is expected to facilitate smoother travel and enhance the overall passenger experience, while contributing to the growth of the civil aviation sector in both countries.

The Philippines remains a key destination for UAE carriers, with demand driven by business, tourism, and family visits. At the same time, the UAE is a major gateway for Filipino travelers seeking work, trade opportunities, or leisure travel in the Middle East. The additional flight entitlements will help meet this demand while offering more flexibility for both business and leisure passengers.

Officials highlighted that the enhanced connectivity also aligns with broader goals to expand commercial aviation ties and deepen economic cooperation. By increasing flight frequencies, the UAE and the Philippines aim to promote tourism, facilitate trade, and reinforce cultural exchanges between the two nations.

The civil aviation authorities confirmed that both sides will continue to collaborate on initiatives that improve air services and develop the aviation sector. This includes exploring opportunities for further commercial flight operations, strengthening regulatory frameworks, and supporting sustainable growth in passenger and cargo traffic.

The agreement signals a renewed commitment to maintaining a dynamic partnership in civil aviation, reflecting the strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural links between the UAE and the Philippines. With additional flights scheduled to start soon, travelers can expect more options and improved connectivity for journeys between the two countries.
