Samsung has officially announced that One UI 7, its latest Android-based software update, will see a stable release in April, four months after its initial debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series. The news brings relief to Samsung users, particularly those with Galaxy S23 and S24 devices, who have been eagerly awaiting the update’s new features and improvements.
One UI 7 is built on Android 15, which Google launched in October 2023. While Google Pixel and OnePlus users have been running Android 15 for months, Samsung has taken a more measured approach. Unlike Apple, which releases iOS updates simultaneously for all eligible devices, Samsung follows a staggered rollout strategy, making its software update timeline less predictable.
The beta version of One UI 7 has been available on select devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, with Samsung gradually expanding access. More recently, the beta was extended to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, though Galaxy S23 users will need to wait another month before joining the testing phase.
Despite the anticipation surrounding One UI 7, its release comes at a time when Google is preparing to unveil Android 16, expected to be announced in May. This timing means Samsung’s update could feel slightly outdated soon after its launch, though the company has yet to confirm whether Android 16-based One UI 8 is in development.
Samsung has stated that One UI 7 will roll out to a broad range of devices, ensuring users across different models can experience the latest software enhancements. However, as with previous releases, the update will likely arrive in phases, with newer flagship devices receiving it first, followed by older models.
With the official release date now set for April, Samsung users can finally look forward to the new features and optimizations that One UI 7 will bring to their devices.
