Emirates Showcases Airbus A350 at Paris Airshow After 15-Year Hiatus

Emirates has returned to the International Paris Airshow for the first time in over 15 years, unveiling its newest Airbus A350 aircraft complete with next-generation cabin design, cutting-edge interiors, and onboard technologies.

The Dubai-based carrier, which is the world’s largest international airline, is participating in the 55th edition of the airshow, one of the aerospace industry’s most prestigious events. The presence marks a significant moment for Emirates, underlining its longstanding ties with the French aviation industry.

Speaking at the event, Emirates President Sir Tim Clark said: “We’re pleased to be at the Paris Airshow, showcasing the very best of air travel on one of the most important platforms in the aerospace exhibition calendar. Coming back to France’s most important aerospace show demonstrates how committed Emirates is to supporting the country’s aviation industry—not just through our day-to-day operations, but through ongoing investments across the entire aerospace supply chain.”

Emirates currently operates 21 weekly flights to Paris, including three daily A380 services, along with a daily A380 flight to Nice and a daily A350 service to Lyon. It is the only international airline flying the A380 to Nice Côte d´Azur Airport.

The airline’s return to the Paris Airshow highlights more than just its latest aircraft. For over three decades, Emirates has been a key player in strengthening France’s aviation sector. The carrier has purchased 254 Airbus aircraft since its founding in 1985, with orders including the A300, A310, A330, A340, A380, and now the A350.

This investment has supported thousands of jobs in France’s aerospace industry through partnerships with Airbus, Safran, Thales, and Michelin. In 2023, Emirates signed contracts with Safran worth over €1 billion, including €896 million for state-of-the-art seating across its new Airbus A350, Boeing 777X-9, and existing Boeing 777-300ER fleets. An additional €322 million was invested in Thales’ AVANT Up in-flight entertainment system for the A350.

Beyond passenger services, Emirates SkyCargo continues to provide cargo capacity between Dubai and key French cities including Paris and Lyon. France is the UAE’s largest European export partner, and Emirates contributes over €189 million annually to the French economy through operational spending, crew layovers, catering, and more.

The Emirates A350 fleet is expected to serve 17 destinations by the end of 2025. To date, the airline has received seven A350s, with 58 more on order.
