Emirates Resumes Flights After Brief Suspension at Dubai Airports

Emirates airline has resumed operations after briefly cancelling flights to and from Dubai following a minor security-related incident earlier on March 7. The airline confirmed that passengers with confirmed bookings for the afternoon of March 7 can proceed to the airport, including those transiting through Dubai if their connecting flights are operating.

The announcement came hours after authorities in Dubai reported a minor incident caused by falling debris following an interception. Officials said the situation had been contained and confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) also announced that operations have partially resumed. Some flights are now operating from both Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Earlier in the day, airport authorities had temporarily halted flight operations at DXB as a precaution.

Emirates had initially suspended flights on Saturday morning and urged passengers not to travel to the airport while the situation was being assessed. The airline said passenger and crew safety remained its top priority and that updates would be shared once more information became available.

Following the resumption announcement, the airline advised travellers to check the latest flight schedules before leaving for the airport. Passengers can also confirm the status of their flights and make new bookings through the airline’s official website.

During the temporary suspension, Emirates also outlined options for customers whose travel plans had been affected. Passengers booked to travel between February 28 and March 31 were offered the option to rebook their flights to the same destination on a new date up to April 30, subject to availability.

Travellers who booked tickets through travel agents have been advised to contact their agents to make alternative arrangements. Customers who booked directly with Emirates can rebook through the airline’s customer support channels.

Passengers also have the option to request a refund for unused tickets. Those who purchased tickets directly from Emirates can submit refund requests through the airline’s online refund form, while customers who booked through travel agents should contact their agents directly.

The airline also asked customers to ensure their contact details are updated through the “Manage Booking” section of its website so they can receive important travel updates.

As part of the temporary measures introduced during the disruption, Emirates confirmed that all city check-in points across Dubai remain closed until further notice.

Airport authorities continue to monitor the situation while normal operations gradually resume. Travellers have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to check official updates before heading to the airport.
