The Qatar Chamber has held discussions with Finnish officials to advance economic cooperation, increase mutual investments and expand the role of the private sector in boosting trade between the two countries.
The talks took place during a meeting between the First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, HE Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, and Ville Skinnari, Member of the Finnish Parliament and Chairman of the Qatar–Finland Friendship Group. Kimmo Laaksonen, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Qatar, also attended the meeting.
During the discussions, Al Kuwari highlighted the steady growth in bilateral commerce, noting that trade between Qatar and Finland reached approximately QAR 354 million last year. He said both sides are eager to raise this figure, adding that Qatari businesspeople are increasingly interested in exploring Finland’s investment landscape, particularly in sectors that align with Qatar’s economic diversification goals.
Al Kuwari reaffirmed the Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting partnerships between companies in both countries. He said the Chamber is ready to assist Finnish investors who aim to benefit from Qatar’s favourable business environment, which includes a competitive investment climate, strategic location, and an expanding range of incentives designed to attract foreign capital.
Skinnari praised the strong ties between Qatar and Finland, especially in trade and economic cooperation. He said the Finnish side is keen to deepen these relations and sees potential for broader engagement between both private sectors. He also underscored Finland’s interest in building long-term economic partnerships with Qatari institutions and companies.
The meeting reflected ongoing efforts by both nations to diversify their economic relations and identify new areas for collaboration, including technology, innovation, energy, and advanced industries.
Officials from both sides expressed optimism that continued dialogue and private-sector engagement will help drive trade to new levels and strengthen the overall economic partnership between Qatar and Finland.
