Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), the nation’s leading digital bank, partnered with Aman Hospital to mark World Diabetes Day with a health-focused initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting wellness among its employees.
The event featured a range of health screenings and consultations to help employees better understand and manage their risk of diabetes. Throughout the day, Aman Hospital’s medical staff provided free blood glucose and blood pressure tests, along with Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments, offering participants a comprehensive overview of their health status. Dietitians from the hospital also held personalized consultations, offering tailored advice on managing diabetes risks through balanced diets and lifestyle changes.
Complementing the in-office activities, QIB extended the initiative to the broader community by leveraging its social media platforms. A series of engaging posts and stories were shared, educating the public on diabetes prevention and underscoring the importance of adopting healthier lifestyle habits.
Mashaal Abdulaziz Al Derham, Assistant General Manager and Head of Corporate Communications & Quality Assurance at QIB, emphasized the bank’s commitment to employee and community well-being. “We are dedicated to fostering health awareness and promoting proactive approaches to well-being among our employees and the wider community. Diabetes remains a pressing health challenge, and through initiatives like these, we aim to champion prevention and elevate public health. We extend our gratitude to Aman Hospital for their valuable collaboration and dedication to impactful health initiatives.”
This initiative aligns with QIB’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, which is rooted in the goals of Qatar’s National Vision (QNV) 2030. By prioritizing healthcare awareness and prevention, QIB seeks to contribute to the nation’s efforts to improve public health and well-being.
World Diabetes Day serves as a global reminder of the increasing prevalence of diabetes and the importance of prevention, early detection, and management. With this initiative, QIB demonstrated its role as a socially responsible corporate leader, fostering a culture of health awareness both within its workforce and the wider community.
