UAE-based conglomerate Galadari Brothers has been awarded the prestigious ET HCA MENA Award 2024 for “Excellence in Creating a Culture of Continuous Learning and Upskilling” in recognition of its innovative Kafaat programme. The initiative focuses on enhancing the skills and competencies of Emirati employees across various sectors within the company.

The Kafaat programme is designed to offer more than traditional training, equipping participants with both technical expertise and important soft skills, which play a key role in human resources (HR). “Kafaat goes beyond traditional training. It is a transformative initiative that not only equips our professionals with technical expertise but also emphasises the key role of behavioural impact in the HR domain,” said Ahlam AlMarzooqi, Galadari Brothers’ Group Emiratisation Manager.

AlMarzooqi expressed her pride in receiving the award and acknowledged the dedication of her team in making the programme a success. “It feels amazing. I’ve put in a lot of hard work, and so has the team to make this programme a reality. Being recognised for our efforts confirms that we’re on the right track,” she said.

Empowering Emiratis Through Kafaat

Launched by Galadari Brothers, the Kafaat programme is specifically tailored for Emirati employees, addressing the evolving needs of human resources in today’s complex work environment. The initiative covers a broad range of skills, from technical HR knowledge to personal and business development, aiming to fast-track participants’ career growth.

“Kafaat helps participants acquire insights and skills that would normally take years to develop. It’s a fast-track to career success, enabling employees to avoid common pitfalls while developing into well-rounded professionals,” added AlMarzooqi.

Mohammed Galadari, Co-Chairman and Group CEO of Galadari Brothers, echoed these sentiments, noting that the programme represents more than just an HR initiative. “Kafaat is about empowerment, growth, and leadership tailored for our Emirati employees.”

Plans for Expansion

Looking ahead, Galadari Brothers aims to expand the Kafaat programme to other departments, including finance and marketing. “What’s great about the programme is its flexibility. We can tailor it to meet the specific needs of different departments and levels of seniority,” said AlMarzooqi.

In addition, there are plans to collaborate with government entities and other companies to share best practices, particularly in the competitive landscape of hiring Emiratis. The programme is also set to expand beyond the UAE, with plans to launch in Saudi Arabia, furthering the company’s commitment to developing a skilled workforce in the region.
