Qatar Activates Emergency Response After Iranian Attack as Gulf States Heighten Security

Qatar activated emergency response measures after an Iranian attack targeted the country early Tuesday, with authorities confirming that one child was injured by falling shrapnel generated during air defence interception operations.

In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior said security agencies and Civil Defence teams immediately implemented emergency procedures following the attack. The ministry said the injured child was receiving the necessary medical treatment and no additional casualties were immediately reported.

Officials urged residents to rely only on information released through official channels and warned against sharing unverified reports, photographs or videos on social media. The ministry said spreading rumours or false information could result in legal action.

Authorities also said security agencies remain on high alert and continue working around the clock to safeguard public safety while ensuring essential public services continue operating without disruption.

The incident came as neighbouring Gulf states also strengthened security measures in response to rising regional tensions.

In Bahrain, emergency sirens sounded twice overnight as officials advised residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe location. The country’s authorities issued repeated public safety alerts while monitoring developments.

Kuwait’s military also reported responding to hostile missile and drone threats during the early hours of Tuesday. Military officials said explosions heard across parts of the country were caused by air defence systems intercepting incoming targets rather than successful strikes on critical infrastructure.

The Kuwaiti armed forces called on residents to follow official security instructions and avoid spreading speculation as the situation continued to develop.

The heightened alert across the Gulf follows a sustained escalation in hostilities between the United States and Iran. Late Thursday, the US military announced it had completed another wave of strikes on targets inside Iran under orders from President Donald Trump. The operation marked the sixth consecutive night of American military attacks.

The latest exchange has raised concerns about regional stability, with Gulf countries increasing surveillance and maintaining elevated security readiness as the conflict continues.

Authorities across the region have stressed the importance of public cooperation during the heightened security situation. Officials said emergency services remain fully prepared to respond to any further incidents while monitoring developments closely.

The renewed military activity has also renewed concerns about the security of critical infrastructure and civilian populations across the Gulf, prompting governments to reinforce emergency response systems and encourage residents to remain vigilant while following guidance issued by official authorities.
