India Condemns Fujairah Airstrikes, Calls for Restraint and Dialogue

India has strongly condemned recent airstrikes targeting Fujairah on the eastern coast of the United Arab Emirates, describing the attacks as unacceptable and raising concern over the safety of civilians and vital infrastructure. The strikes, carried out using drones and missiles, left three Indian nationals injured and caused damage in a petroleum-related industrial area.

In an official statement, the spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs said the country remains deeply concerned about the escalation of violence and its wider impact on regional stability. The statement stressed the need to halt hostilities immediately and avoid targeting civilian facilities, warning that such actions risk worsening tensions across West Asia.

India reaffirmed its long-standing position that disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic engagement. The spokesperson noted that peace and stability in the region are essential not only for the countries directly involved but also for global economic security, given the strategic importance of the area.

The statement also highlighted the importance of maintaining free and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy supplies. India urged all parties to respect international law and ensure that commercial shipping lanes remain open and secure.

Following the incident, the Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates confirmed that three Indian citizens were injured during the attacks. According to embassy officials, the individuals were caught in a fire that broke out in a petroleum industries zone after the strikes. Their condition has been described as moderate, and they are currently receiving medical treatment with support from local authorities.

The embassy added that it is in close contact with the injured individuals and their families, while also coordinating with UAE officials to ensure proper care and assistance. Indian authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to safeguard the welfare of Indian nationals in the region.

The attack on Fujairah has drawn attention due to the emirate’s strategic location along the Gulf of Oman, outside the Strait of Hormuz, making it a key hub for oil storage and transport. Any disruption in this area has the potential to affect global energy markets and regional trade routes.

India’s response reflects growing international concern over rising tensions and the risks posed to civilians and economic infrastructure. Officials reiterated that a peaceful resolution remains the only viable path forward and expressed readiness to support efforts aimed at reducing conflict and restoring calm in the region.
